Challenge and Opportunities

‍The rig industry is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, making it essential to reduce its environmental impact. Addressing climate change requires reducing energy consumption and emissions in this sector.

Business Goal & Tech details‍

‍The goal is to build a comprehensive analytics platform that allows users in the offshore rig sector to access real-time data and analytics, identify operational issues, compare performance with competitors and targets, and simulate equipment scenarios.

Esgian has collaborated with a third party company to receive data by installing sensors on the working rig. The data convert to be the information about the energy consumption of the utilities and operating equipment.

My responsibilities

‍My role in this project is to lead the design process and build the product from scratch. Throughout the process, I’ve collaborated closely with the PM and a room of engineers and analysts. It is an innovative product with no existing market references. Therefore, the process involved extensive brainstorming, interpreting ideas, prioritizing, and iterating to build the product from scratch. ‍

UX strategy

‍The design process starts with establishing a clear UX strategy that aligns user needs with business goals. I led the design process, which involved conducting user research, analyzing industry benchmarks in the offshore rig sector, and defining key objectives for the user experience. Mapping out lifecycle map, persona and user joruney map and on.

The process incorporates both divergent and convergent thinking, encompassing research, ideation, wireframing, prototyping, and iterative testing to ensure a user-centered design.
